November 21 will see two of Drum & Bass’s biggest labels, Exit Records and Metalheadz, going head to head for an all night affair at Studio Space E1 in London.
The event will feature performances from over 30 acts including ESP artists, Calibre, dBridge, Dub Phizix & Strategy, Jubei, Kid Drama, MC DRS, MC Lowqui, SP:MC, Storm and Ulterior Motive.
To get you in the mood ahead of the event, you can listen to a recent mix from Exit Records head honcho dBridge, who delivered an outstanding selection last month in Tokyo for Red Bull Music Academy. Check it out here.
Damon Kirkham aka Kid Drama made his first steps into the realms of 170 bpm as one half of the game changing production partnership Instra:mental. Together with dBridge their Autonomic podcasts went down in history for breathing new life back into a somewhat stagnant underground Drum & Bass scene, showcasing their own material alongside other producers, and pricking up ears that had long since given up on the genres increasingly formulaic output.Alongside dBridge they took the Autonomic brand on world tours and also had a residency with legendary super club Fabric, resulting in the award winning Autonomic Fabric Live 50 compilation.
After focussing on his Jon Convex project, Kid Drama has returned to the fore with solo tunes and collaborations with Om Unit, Skeptical, Fracture, and dBridge (as Heart Drive) mapping the next chapter of the Autonomic sound they created.
Jubei's 'These Things VIP' is out now on Metalheadz. Featuring vocals from dBridge, it's a tougher and more stepping version of the original, taken from his debut album 'To Have & Have Not' released last year. LIsten to the VIP here.
Jubei has been busy in the studio and is set to drop an EP of new material on Metalheadz in early 2015, as well as featuring on the lead single for the new MC DRS album 'Mid Mic Crisis'.
